CUPERTINO, Calif. (Diya TV) — A 35-year-old Cupertino man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of stalking four young girls, which the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office said only represents a fraction of his total known victims.

Rajeev Sanhi is suspected of targeting 19 preteens and teenagers over the past couple of years, Sheriff Laurie Smith alleged.

“As a sheriff, a mother and a woman,” Smith told the San Jose Mercury News, “I am completely outraged and disgusted that a grown man would prey on the most vulnerable and innocent in our community.”

Smith’s office launched an official investigation into the matter after a 14-year-old girl filed a report with the department alleging that a man, later identified as Sanhi, had approached her on more than one occasion with the solicitations of gifts, money, tickets to events and other items. He even followed the girl home, police said, more than a dozen times. Sanhi continued to contact and harass the young girl, even after being confronted by a relative of the girl, according to the sheriff’s office.

Authorities said they found collages of girls and gifts for them, including a personalized license plate, at Rajeev Sanhi’s home in Cupertino on Wednesday. Detectives had linked Sanhi to similar incidents in San Jose, Los Gatos, Los Altos, Saratoga and Los Angeles by late February. Lt. James Jensen said Sanhi often handed out business cards advertising his website, which offers Jesus and relationship “makeovers.”

Sanhi was arrested after detectives with the sheriff’s Sexual Assault Investigation Unit, the county’s Sexual Felony Assault Enforcement Task Force and the Los Altos Police Department served a search warrant at his home. Collages of the girls and gifts for them, including a personalized license plate and a stuffed giraffe, were recovered, Jensen said.

Sanhi was booked on four felony counts of stalking and one misdemeanor count of annoying a minor. Authorities are yet to uncover any evidence suggesting Sanhi sexually assaulted any of the girls.
