LOVELAND, Colo. (Diya TV) — A 40-year-old woman has been arrested following the discovery of explosives at a Tesla dealership in Loveland, Colorado, in the latest in a string of protests against Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

The Loveland Police Department issued the arrest of Lucy Grace Nelson, who has charges such as the use of explosives or incendiary devices, felony criminal mischief, and attempted felonies. Police records also include Nelson’s alias as “Justin Thomas Nelson.”

The probe started on January 29 after vandalism reports at the dealership, which involved incendiary devices and obscene graffiti. There were more incidents on February 2 and February 7, which got progressively worse. While under surveillance on February 10, Nelson was seen with more incendiary devices and materials associated with the vandalism. She was arrested peacefully.

Authorities are working with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives Denver Field Division, with possible federal charges being considered. The motive for the attacks is being investigated, and officials are looking into the possibility of other suspects, as security footage indicates another person was involved. Despite the attacks, police assure there is no active threat to the community.

This arrest falls during a wider upsurge of protests against Elon Musk. Protests have erupted in several U.S. cities, with activists decrying Musk’s influence within the federal government during the presidency of Donald Trump. Demonstrators in San Francisco, for example, have marched in front of Tesla stores, protesting about economic inequalities and Musk’s interference in politics.

Similar protests have been witnessed in San Antonio, where “Deport Musk” posters have been placed on public walls. Indivisible, a group started by former Democratic congressional staff, has been leading the charge for protests against Musk.

The group issued a “tool kit” that included instructions for holding demonstrations at Tesla dealerships, showrooms, and factories, to hold Musk responsible for what he does and how he affects politics and society. As the situation unfolds, law enforcement officials continue investigating the incidents in Loveland and tracking related protests across the country.
