(DIYA TV) — Indian TV talent is being turned on to the mainstream — Sarita Choudhury of Showtime’s hit show Homeland, and Karan Oberoi of CBS’s tenured NCIS, have been pegged as series regulars in a new Fox drama pilot, Recon.
The show is written by The Vampire Diaries executive producer Caroline Dries, and is about a rookie FBI agent who plants herself in a suspected terrorist family.
Choudhury has been cast as Farrah, a successful businesswoman faced with the struggle of balancing her work and family life, and the Five Pillars of Islam. Oberoi is her son, Jared, cast as the apparent sole heir to the family’s business — however, Jared’s bad-boy persona does not match with his father’s business plan.
