SAN FRANCISCO (Diya TV) – Major news out of California where the state’s Civil Rights Department dismissed its case against Cisco Systems engineers Sundar Iyer and Ramana Kompella, who faced allegations of caste based discrimination. The case has been a critical talking point for groups like Equality Labs that seek to add caste legislation throughout the United States that specifically calls out South Asians. In a statement, the Hindu American Foundation, who advocated for the defendants, said “these two Indian-Americans endured a nearly three-year nightmare of unending investigations, a brutal online witch hunt, and a presumption of guilt in the media.” The case against Cisco Systems itself continues, with a meditation scheduled for May.

Indian American Sahith Theegala made the most of his first Masters appearance on Sunday as he hit an incredible chip shot on the 16th hole. Theegala was sitting at 5-under par through 15 holes when he found himself in the gallery on his second shot. He managed to chip the ball onto the green and into the hole for an incredible birdie and finished 12th overall.
