SAN FRANCISCO (Diya TV) – A bill aiming to protect caste unanimously passed the California Senate Judiciary Committee 11-0, bringing the state one step closer to being the first to ban caste-based discrimination. More than 600 people testified for and against the proposed bill brought forward by California State Senator Aisha Wahab. Most came from all parts of the Golden State to make their voices heard.
Hundreds of Sikh groups are slamming British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak for what they call actions that are “extremely worrying.” Sunak has been accused of aggressive policing of the Sikh community and most recently, trying to extraditie of three British Sikhs back to India, accused of conspiracy to commit murder. The UK has also been under pressure from India for allowing Khalistan supporters to vandalize their High Commission building in London.
Big money Democratic donors are lining up to support President Joe Biden now that he confirmed he’s running for reelection. LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman has offered to host fundraising events for Biden and Alexander Soros, the son of billionaire George Soros said in a tweet he’s riding with Biden.
