WASHINGTON (Diya TV) — During a meeting with prominent restaurant operators, including Panera Bread CEO Niren Chaudhary, President Trump surprised everyone by announcing he’s been taking hydroxychloroquine for about a week and a half. The timing coincides with a number of White House staffers contracting COVID-19. The drug is typically used to treat malaria and there’s still no consensus on whether it’s effective for the coronavirus.
Indian Prime Minister Modi spoke to Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates about efforts India and the Gates Foundation are making to battle COVID-19. Gates was complementary to Modi about the steps India has taken to fight the pandemic. But the death toll and infection total continues to rise, with 100,000 people now battling the virus, 3,000 of whom died.
And the numbers continue to escalate around the nation, even as most states begin to reopen their economies. 1.5 million people in the U.S. have COVID-19 and so far, more than 90,000 have lost their lives.
