WASHINGTON (Diya TV) — President-Elect Donald Trump announced entrepreneur Elon Musk and former GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy will head a newly proposed “Department of Government Efficiency” in his second term. The department, part of Trump’s plan to streamline federal operations, is designed to eradicate bureaucratic waste and modernize government processes.

Trump commended both Musk and Ramaswamy for their “innovative thinking” and “business acumen,” deeming both facets necessary to his vision of a leaner, more efficient federal government.

“Elon is the greatest innovator of our time. No one knows how to run a successful operation like him. And Vivek has brilliant ideas on reducing waste in government,” Trump sais. “Together, they’ll help us cut through the red tape that’s been holding our country back.”

Musk has been using his platform X to discuss ‘DOGE.’ The CEO of both Tesla and SpaceX is famous for revolutionizing an industry with technology, but changing government might be more challenging.

Ramaswamy is a biotech entrepreneur and conservative commentator who campaigned for deregulation and streamlining government functions throughout his own presidential campaign. Trump has complimented Ramaswamy’s approach to the size of the federal government and his call to demolish certain agencies.

‘DOGE’ will tackle the consolidation of government programs and introduce technology-driven solutions that eradicate inefficiencies. Trump has not been able to share anything specific on which federal agencies or departments he would target.

Political analysts are divided on who would be affected by Musk and Ramaswamy taking on such an initiative. Some believe the outsider status works for Musk but warn that his little experience of being part of the machine would spell trouble for him.

Critics of Trump also expressed concerns over the move, namely that there would be a consolidation of power by high-profile business leaders and conflicts of interest likely to arise from such appointments.
