TORONTO (Diya TV) — Toronto police have launched a citywide manhunt for a suspect in the murder of a 30-year-old Indian woman, authorities confirmed. The victim, Himanshi Khurana, was found dead inside a residence near Strachan Avenue and Wellington Street West. Police say the case appears to involve intimate partner violence.
The main suspect has been identified as 32-year-old Abdul Ghafoori, also of Toronto. A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for his arrest on first-degree murder charges. Police have released an image of Ghafoori and are urging anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact authorities immediately.
Police responded to a missing person report on Friday, Dec. 19, 2025, at approximately 10:41 p.m. Officers located Khurana’s body inside the residence the following morning, Saturday, Dec. 20, at around 6:30 a.m. Authorities confirmed that the victim and the suspect were known to each other. A Toronto Police spokesperson said, “We have released an image of the suspect, and that is out there. We’re appealing to the public: if anybody knows where this man is, please call the police.”
Abdul Ghafoori, 32, is the main suspect in the murder investigation. Police have described the incident as a violent crime connected to an intimate relationship. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are asking anyone with information to come forward.

The Indian High Commission also issued a statement describing the murder as “tragic” and “disturbing.” The High Commission reaffirmed its commitment to assisting the family while the investigation continues.
