BENGALURU, India (Diya TV) — Indian tennis prodigy Srishti Kiran has achieved a major milestone in her young career. The 13-year-old from Bengaluru has climbed to World No. 1 in the Under-13 category after a string of impressive performances on the international junior circuit.

The rising star reached the top spot following an outstanding run that included five consecutive ITF junior titles. She also finished runner-up at the ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors J100 event in Guatemala last week, further boosting her ranking. Srishti’s success has pushed her to a career-high ITF Junior ranking of No. 357. That achievement makes her the highest-ranked Under-13 player in the world and one of India’s most promising young tennis talents.

Srishti’s journey to the top has been built on consistency and determination. Over the past several weeks, she has delivered strong results against international competition and collected valuable ranking points. Her rise is even more impressive because she competed in only eight ranking tournaments. The ITF junior ranking system allows players to count results from up to 10 events. Many of her closest competitors benefited from the full quota of tournaments.

Despite having fewer opportunities, Srishti earned enough points to secure the No. 1 position in the Under-13 rankings. Financial and logistical challenges prevented her from participating in two additional ranking events. Those missed tournaments make her achievement even more significant. It highlights her ability to maximize every opportunity and perform under pressure.

Srishti expressed her excitement after reaching the top of the rankings.

“I’m really happy to become World No. 1 in my age group. It’s something I wasn’t thinking about at the start of the year, but all the hard work with my coaches, family, and support team is paying off,” she said. The young player credited her recent success to consistent effort and support from those around her. She also acknowledged that there is still room for improvement as she continues her development.

“The last few weeks have been very special. Winning five titles in a row and then reaching another final has given me a lot of confidence. At the same time, I know there is still a long way to go and many things I need to improve in my game,” she said. Her comments reflect a mature approach to the sport despite her young age.

Winning five consecutive ITF junior titles played a crucial role in Srishti’s climb to the top. Each tournament victory added valuable ranking points and strengthened her position among the world’s best junior players.

The runner-up finish in Guatemala further reinforced her standing. Competing successfully in international events has helped her gain experience against a wide range of opponents. Tennis experts often view sustained success on the junior circuit as an important indicator of future potential. Srishti’s recent performances have placed her among the brightest young prospects in Indian tennis.

Srishti’s international campaign is far from over. She is expected to continue competing in Europe during the upcoming grass-court season.

Subject to gaining entry into the main draw, she could participate in a J300 event in the United Kingdom. The tournament is considered one of the most important junior events before the Wimbledon Junior Championships. The Bengaluru teenager is currently preparing for the transition from hard courts to grass courts. She hopes the experience will help her grow as a player and compete against some of the world’s top junior talents.

“Playing on grass and hopefully competing at Wimbledon Juniors is a dream for every young tennis player. If I get into the J300 event, it will be a great opportunity to learn and test myself against some of the best juniors in the world,” Srishti said.
