SAN FRANCISCO (Diya TV) – Distraught parents of a 21-year-old Sikh woman who was shot dead in Canada’s Ontario province say that they regret sending their daughter to the country to study and are now demanding justice. Pawanpreet Kaur was fatally shot by an unidentified assailant at a Petro-Canada gas station where she was working overnight. A suspect description has been released by police but so far no arrest or clear motive.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party has won an overwhelming victory in a state assembly vote in his home state of Gujarat, putting it in a strong position ahead of the 2024 general elections. Political analysts said the BJP’s party’s massive win has reaffirmed Modi’s runaway popularity.
