WASHINGTON (Diya TV) — Second Lady Usha Vance will head the U.S. Presidential Delegation to the 2025 Special Olympics World Winter Games in Turin, Italy, from March 8 to 15. This event will unify more than 1,500 athletes and unified partners from 102 countries and compete in eight sports, alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, dance sport, figure skating, floorball, short track speed skating, snowboarding, and snowshoeing.

At 39, Vance is the youngest Second Lady since Jane Hadley Barkley in 1949 and the first of Indian American heritage. She will accompany various events, such as the Opening Ceremony on March 8, to encourage the athletes and promote inclusion and acceptance.

The Presidential Delegation comprises:

  • Trent Michael Morse, Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy Director of Presidential Personnel
  • Riley M. Barnes, Senior Bureau Official of the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor, United States Department of State
  • Douglass Benning, Consul General, United States Consulate Milan, Italy
  • Rachel Campos-Duffy, FOX News Host and wife to the U.S. Secretary of Transportation
  • Boris Epshteyn, Senior Counsel and Senior Advisor to President Donald J. Trump
  • Richard Walters, Partner at FGS Global

The Games will also include participants such as Liza Ambrosini of Queensbury, New York, who has been training seriously for the alpine skiing events. Moreover, Michigan State Police Specialist Trooper Jacob Lewis will run the Law Enforcement Torch Run’s Final Leg, carrying the Flame of Hope to Turin.

The Special Olympics World Winter Games seek to bring people together around the globe, demonstrating the potential of sport to create inclusion and break down barriers. Vance and the delegation will depart from the United States on March 16.
