JAIPUR, Rajasthan (Diya TV) — Pravasi Rajasthani Divas was celebrated on Dec. 10 with a grand gathering of Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) and leading industrialists from India and abroad. The state-level event took place at the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre (JECC) in Sitapura.
The celebration highlighted Rajasthan’s efforts to attract global investors and showcase its growth potential. The event featured the launch of 13 new state policies, the signing of multiple memorandums of understanding (MoUs), and a groundbreaking ceremony for investment proposals worth Rs 1 lakh crore.
Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagde, Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria, and Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma attended the event. Union Ministers Manohar Lal Khattar, Piyush Goyal, and Bhupendra Yadav also graced the occasion. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan participated in discussions, while Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil and Minister of State for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal joined the program. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla was expected to attend later in the day.
Several prominent industry leaders addressed the gathering, including Vedanta Group Chairman Anil Agarwal and Tata Power CEO Praveer Sinha. Rajasthan Industries Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore and other cabinet ministers also took part in the event.
The state government unveiled policies across multiple sectors, including industry promotion, trade, Global Capability Centres (GCCs), tourism, AI and machine learning, space and aero-defense, agriculture and food processing, IT outsourcing, green growth, sports, vehicle scrapping, forest and agroforestry, and a Pravasi Rajasthani Policy.
Officials said these policies aim to accelerate Rajasthan’s growth, attract global investment, and create new opportunities for innovation and employment. Experts at the event highlighted Rajasthan’s evolving industrial landscape and its potential to become a hub for technology, energy, and sustainable development.
The program began at 11 a.m. with an inaugural ceremony, followed by parallel sessions on key sectors such as industry, energy, water, tourism, mining, education, and health. These sessions allowed experts to discuss investment opportunities, emerging trends, and strategies to enhance Rajasthan’s economic and industrial growth.
Outstanding NRIs who have contributed significantly in various fields received the Pravasi Rajasthani Samman. The evening concluded with a cultural showcase celebrating Rajasthan’s heritage, including traditional music, dance, and art forms.
Representatives from 26 Rajasthan Chapters across India and overseas attended the event. International delegations came from cities including Munich, Nairobi, Dubai, Singapore, Doha, Tokyo, Riyadh, Melbourne, Kampala, Kathmandu, London, and New York. Major Indian cities such as Delhi, Pune, Mumbai, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Kolkata were also represented.
The event provided a platform for NRIs and business leaders to engage with policymakers, share insights, and explore investment opportunities in Rajasthan. Officials emphasized that collaboration with NRIs could help the state leverage global expertise for economic development and job creation.
