NEW DELHI (Diya TV) — Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in separate discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, signaling India’s diplomatic efforts to navigate the escalating conflict between the two nations.

In his phone call with President Putin, Prime Minister Modi congratulated him on his recent re-election victory and expressed India’s commitment to enhancing the ‘Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership’ between India and Russia. Both leaders emphasized the importance of deepening bilateral ties and coordinating actions within multilateral frameworks such as Brics and SCO.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi’s conversation with President Zelenskyy focused on India’s support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Modi reiterated India’s people-centric approach and underscored the government’s dedication to facilitating a peaceful resolution to the conflict. Zelenskyy, in turn, expressed gratitude for India’s humanitarian assistance and invited Modi to visit Ukraine.

The talks come at a critical juncture as the Russia-Ukraine conflict shows no signs of abating. With the Black Sea region witnessing heightened tensions due to Ukrainian attacks, diplomatic engagement becomes increasingly crucial to prevent further escalation.

Furthermore, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba is scheduled to visit India later this month, signaling Kyiv’s efforts to garner international support for its peace plan.

India has refrained from proposing a specific peace plan, but they continue to support initiatives aimed at achieving a peaceful resolution.
