REDMOND, Wash. (Diya TV) — Microsoft has launched Microsoft Frontier Company, a new operating business backed by a $2.5 billion investment to help organizations build, deploy and improve artificial intelligence systems at scale. The company said the new unit will focus on delivering measurable business results as more enterprises move beyond AI testing and into full deployment.

Microsoft plans to place 6,000 industry and engineering experts alongside customers to design AI solutions, improve business processes, and support long-term AI adoption. The company said this approach combines AI engineering, industry knowledge, and organizational change support to help businesses achieve stronger returns on their AI investments.

The announcement reflects a broader shift in the enterprise AI market. Many companies have already completed early AI experiments. Now, they want practical solutions that improve productivity, protect valuable business data, and deliver clear financial value.

Microsoft said Microsoft Frontier Company will help organizations build AI systems around their own business knowledge. The company believes each business should strengthen its unique expertise instead of relying only on general AI models. As a result, customers can create AI tools that reflect their own workflows, data, and decision-making processes.

At the same time, Microsoft stressed that trust remains a central part of its strategy. The company said customer data, intellectual property, and proprietary information will stay protected. It also said customer information will not be used to train AI models in ways that reduce a company’s competitive advantage.

Microsoft also highlighted its support for multiple AI models. Instead of locking customers into one provider, the platform allows businesses to choose models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Microsoft AI, open-source communities, or specialized industry developers. Therefore, organizations can select the best model for each business need while keeping full control over their AI systems.

Microsoft appointed Rodrigo Kede Lima as president of Microsoft Frontier Company. He brings 30 years of industry experience and has spent the past six years leading enterprise transformation efforts at Microsoft across the Americas and Asia. The company said his experience will help customers connect technology investments with measurable business outcomes.

Moreover, Microsoft said the new business already supports several major organizations. These include London Stock Exchange Group, Land O’Lakes, Unilever, and Novo Nordisk. According to the company, its team worked with London Stock Exchange Group to add AI capabilities to LSEG Workspace. The system allows financial professionals to ask complex questions across both structured and unstructured financial information. In addition, customer feedback and ongoing testing continue to improve the platform over time.

However, Microsoft did not release detailed performance figures or financial results for the other customer projects. Instead, the company said its approach has already delivered measurable improvements across several industries.

Microsoft also plans to expand the program through its consulting partners. The company said it will work closely with Accenture, Capgemini, EY, KPMG, and PwC to bring Frontier Company services to more customers around the world. These partnerships aim to increase delivery capacity while helping organizations adopt AI more quickly.

Furthermore, Microsoft described Frontier Company as more than a traditional engineering service. Rather than simply installing AI software, the teams will work with customers from the planning stage through deployment and continuous improvement. As business needs change, the AI systems will also evolve through regular updates and user feedback.

Microsoft Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Satya Nadella said businesses need AI systems that learn and improve over time. He said organizations should build their own AI capabilities by combining their knowledge, workflows, and expertise into systems that continuously deliver better results.
