CHANDIGARH, India (Diya TV) — Days after the birth of late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala’s second son, the Union Health Ministry has demanded a report from the Punjab Government regarding the IVF treatment received by his mother, Charan Kaur. The move follows accusations of harassment leveled by Moosewala’s father, Balkaur Singh, against the Punjab government.

The Ministry’s intervention comes after concerns were raised regarding the age limit stipulated under the Assisted Reproductive Technology (Regulation) Act, 2021. According to government sources, Moosewala’s parents allegedly sought IVF treatment abroad, raising questions about compliance with Indian regulations.

In a post on Instagram, Balkaur Singh expressed frustration over what he perceives as harassment by the administration. He urged Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to allow the family to complete necessary procedures without interference, asserting their adherence to the law.

Meanwhile, opposition leaders have criticized the AAP government, accusing it of unnecessarily troubling Moosewala’s family. Punjab Congress chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring called for an end to the harassment, urging the government to allow the Sidhu family to rejoice in the new addition without legal obstacles.

Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia condemned the government’s actions, labeling them as unfortunate and reflective of harassment against Moosewala’s family.

Sidhu Moosewala, also known as Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, died in May 2022 and there continues to be controversy surrounding his passing.
