ISLAMABAD (Diya TV) — Iran has carried out precision missile and drone strikes targeting bases of the Sunni militant group Jaish al-Adl in Pakistan, escalating tensions in an already volatile region. The strikes, which Iran claims were in response to recent deadly attacks by Jaish al-Adl on Iranian territory, have sparked a diplomatic row between the two nations.

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, stated that the strikes specifically targeted the Jaish al-Adl group, which Iran categorizes as a terrorist organization. He emphasized that no civilians from Pakistan were affected by the attacks and reiterated Iran’s commitment to safeguarding its national security.

Pakistan strongly condemned the incursion, labeling it an “unprovoked violation of its airspace” and warning of serious consequences. The strikes resulted in the tragic death of two children and injuries to three girls, according to Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The country has recalled its ambassador from Iran and suspended high-level visits from Iranian officials.

The Jaish al-Adl militant group, known for operating on both sides of the Iran-Pakistan border, claimed that Iran used attack drones and rockets to destroy houses where the families of its fighters resided. The strikes occurred in the Koh-e-Sabz area of Balochistan province, near the shared border.

The international community has expressed concerns over the escalating conflict. China urged both Iran and Pakistan to exercise restraint, emphasizing the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the region. India acknowledged the matter as a bilateral issue but stressed its zero tolerance towards terrorism.

This incident follows Iran’s recent missile and drone attacks in Iraq and Syria, further complicating the geopolitical landscape. The strikes in Pakistan are seen as part of Iran’s broader response to perceived threats, including attacks on its Revolutionary Guard commanders.

As tensions escalate, there are fears that the situation could have far-reaching consequences, especially considering the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza. The international community is closely monitoring developments and calling for diplomatic solutions to address the root causes of the rising tensions in the Middle East.

In the aftermath of these strikes, questions remain about the future trajectory of relations between Iran and Pakistan and the broader implications for regional stability.
