WASHINGTON, DC (Diya TV) – India’s defense ministry gave the green light to acquire 31 SeaGuardian drones valued at over $3 billion. Indian Prime Minister Modi will finalize the deal during his visit to the White House this week. Additionally, India’s navy conducted a joint exercise with two aircraft carriers, making it the second country, after the U.S., to perform such a maneuver.

The United Nations dedicated a solidarity tree to honor victims of terrorism, including those lost in the 2008 Mumbai attack. The ceremony took place ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the UN. The tree is planted at the UN headquarters next to the Mahatma Gandhi bust. Survivor Karambir Kang, who lost his wife and two sons in the Mumbai attack, spoke at the ceremony, emphasizing the need for global cooperation in eradicating terrorism. The solidarity tree serves as a permanent symbol of remembrance.

Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani donated $38.5 million to IIT Bombay to commemorate his 50-year association with the institution. The donation will go to enhance infrastructure and foster a startup ecosystem.
