WASHINGTON (Diya TV)  — A panel of experts convened by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases say doctors should no longer use a drug cocktail featuring hydroxychloroquine to treat COVID-19 patients because of increased risk of cardiac death. The hydroxychloroquine recommendation is counter to comments made by President Trump suggesting such a treatment to COVID patients.

The last 650 Sikhs and Hindus in Afghanistan are asking the U.S. to grant asylum after a recent attack on a Sikh gurdwara by the Islamic State killed 25 people. But that may prove to be difficult since President Trump announced this week he’s signing an executive order to pause immigration until the COVID-19 crisis is over. India has already enacted the Citizenship Amendment Act, a law that caused controversy, enabling such refugees to receive citizenship immediately.

The so-called ‘Indian Super Bowl’ will not take place in 2020, much to the chagrin of Indian American children. Scripps announced their National Spelling Bee is officially postponed until 2021. The National Geographic Bee is also cancelled this year.
