INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Diya TV) — Construction of the Kali Hotel at Hollywood Park is moving steadily toward completion. The project recently marked a key milestone with the ceremonial raising of the final structural steel beam. The event brought together community leaders, city officials, developers, and construction workers to celebrate the achievement.
The Kali Hotel project began in October 2024 and has quickly progressed, reflecting Inglewood’s rise as a hub for sports, entertainment, and luxury hospitality. The hotel is the only property approved under the Hollywood Park Specific Plan and will stand 12 stories tall. Its rooftop restaurant and bar will offer sweeping views across Los Angeles, making it a new landmark in the city’s skyline.
Community members gathered to mark the occasion, which city officials called a milestone for local jobs and tourism. “This is about more than just steel and concrete,” said one speaker. “It’s the foundation for opportunity, community pride, and a lasting future.”
The Hollywood Park district is home to SoFi Stadium and other entertainment and cultural venues. The area is evolving into a vibrant neighborhood where residents and visitors can live, work, play, and soon, stay.
Dr. Kali P. Chaudhuri, the developer behind the hotel, shared his personal journey with attendees. He spoke of arriving in the United States with almost nothing and building his first estate in Hemet, California, before expanding to Inglewood. “This hotel is more than a building — it is a dream realized through vision, friendship, and strong support,” Chaudhuri said.
Chaudhuri also paid tribute to his late wife, who passed away in June, thanking the community for its support. He described how walking the streets of Inglewood as a young worker inspired his vision for the city. “Now, together, we are transforming that vision into reality,” he said. The hotel is part of a larger plan that includes Kali Square, a new development set for downtown Los Angeles.
Developer Stan Kroenke, owner and chairman of the Los Angeles Rams, was praised for his role in the project. R. Otto Maly, president of Kroenke Holdings, highlighted Kroenke’s expertise in combining real estate and sports ventures. Maly also recognized the efforts of more than 220 field workers who helped build the project. “You are the ones making this happen every day,” he said.
Mayor James Butts attended the celebration and emphasized the project’s local impact. He praised TEC Constructors and Engineers, a minority-owned firm based in Inglewood, for its integral role. “Inglewood is a place where ambitious projects don’t just get built — they get built right, by our neighbors, for our community,” the mayor said.
Ryan McGuire, president of Clay Construction Company, noted that nearly 50,000 cubic yards of earth were excavated for the project. He said the hotel’s success stems from teamwork and partnership. McGuire also recognized workers Luis Borja and James Castillo for their exceptional contributions to safety and professionalism.
The Kali Hotel is scheduled to open in September 2026. It will provide a major hospitality destination in a city that has hosted the Super Bowl, welcomed millions of visitors to SoFi Stadium, and is preparing for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the 2028 Olympic Games.
