NEW YORK (Diya TV) — Former President Bill Clinton has been hospitalized after developing a fever, his spokesperson said Wednesday. Clinton, 78, was admitted to a New York hospital as a precaution and is receiving treatment.

President Clinton developed a fever and is being closely monitored by his medical team,” spokesman Angel Ureña said in a statement. “He is in good spirits and is thankful for the care he’s receiving from his doctors and nurses.” The spokesman did not release more information about what could be causing Clinton’s fever or his current status.

Former President Clinton was hospitalized just days after he appeared in public for the first time in several weeks at a holiday event in New York City. He was seen mingling with guests at the event. Clinton was not feeling well this week, Ureña said, but initially rested at home before his symptoms worsened enough to necessitate medical attention.

Clinton had already faced health issues once. He has been subjected to various medical issues for quite some time now, like his hospitalization last 2021 due to a urinary tract infection that spread in his bloodstream. Clinton has also undergone heart surgery back in 2004, as well as a procedure that involved placing two stents in a coronary artery in 2010.

Clinton has been active in public life since leaving office as the 42nd president of the United States from 1993 to 2001. He is still involved with the Clinton Foundation in global health, education, and economic development initiatives and frequently attends political and charitable events.

Messages for Clinton’s recovery have flown across the political spectrum. Even his wife, former secretary of state Hillary Clinton was spotted visiting him in a hospital on Wednesday afternoon and reportedly visited him in a hospital for the coming days.

“Hospital officials say he shall be under observation for a couple of days. However the doctors are hopeful of it.”.

“We hope that with the quality attention he is receiving, President Clinton will fully recover and get back home soon,” said Ureña in his statement.

Clinton’s staff informed the public that they would continue to provide updates on the president’s condition as needed.
