Democrat Nikil Saval began his first day on the job as a state senator in Pennsylvania, starting work remotely from his home. Saval is the first Indian American and first Asian American to serve in a statewide position in the state of Pennsylvania.
Former U.S. Ambassador to India Richard Verma is now the new Executive Vice President for Global Public Policy and Regulatory Affairs at payment company Mastercard. Verma has more than 25 years of international experience across business, law, diplomacy, and the military.

The Colorado teenager was interviewed by actress Angelina Jolie and talked about her passion for using technology to tackle issues ranging from contaminated drinking water to opioid addiction and cyberbullying. Rao says she’s also trying to create a global community of young innovators to solve problems all over the world.
