SAN FRANCISCO (Diya TV) – In California, an Indian American father has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and child abuse after authorities say he intentionally drove his car off a cliff along the treacherous Devil’s Slide portion of Highway 1 in Bay Area while his two children and wife were inside with him. Darmesh Patel is a doctor and his wife Neha, their 7-year-old daughter and 4-year-old son survived after their car tumbled more than 200 feet down the cliffside. First responders used helicopters to save the family.
House Republicans made a sixth try to agree on a speaker, but failed to do so. House GOP leader Kevin McCarthy is struggling to secure votes to become speaker and is trying to quietly lock down votes among the GOP holdouts.
