PHOENIX (Diya TV) — The Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee have hired a high-profile conservative lawyer and advisor to Trump to lead the legal team overseeing election integrity efforts in Arizona.
Harmeet Dhillon, the Indian American RNC National Committeewoman for California, will advise on the legal affairs of the Trump campaign as it pertains to protecting Arizona’s elections integrity. She will lead fights in courts to ensure the election process is free and transparent, according to the Trump campaign in a statement this week.
Said Susie Wiles and Chris LaCivita, Trump campaign managers, along with RNC Chairman Michael Whatley and Co-Chair Lara Trump, in a statement: “Harmeet is an unmatched force for Election Integrity and will lead the fight, and win, to secure Arizona’s elections – for our country’s most important election.” They said election integrity remains a top priority of Trump and RNC and they saw Arizona as the critical state in the outcome of the 2024 election.
Dhillon has been one of the most prominent conservative voices on legal issues. She is no stranger to high-profile election cases; Dhillon played a leading role in a number of post-2020 election legal efforts to challenge the results in contested states. Her appointment comes as early voting is about to start in Arizona, a state that was at the heart of many of Trump’s claims about voter fraud in the 2020 election.
In a post to social media, Dhillon said, “Honored to serve. I’ve already spoken to most of the movers & shakers in AZ, and I’m heading there shortly after fulfilling another campaign duty in another part of the country.”
Arizona is likely going to be one of the battlegrounds where closely watched election results are recorded, especially since the state has been a center point in the electoral dispute during the just-concluded 2020 presidential race. Trump lost Arizona by a narrow margin in 2020; thus, the two camps have identified the state as key in deciding the outcome of the next election.
