SAN FRANCISCO (Diya TV) — A $1 booklet of the U.S. Constitution has topped the domestic sales charts on Amazon.com just days after Muslim-American lawyer Khizr Khan offered to lend his copy to Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

The 52-page booklet printed by the National Center for Constitutional Studies sells for $1, and was in the Top 10 bestselling books on Amazon.com on Saturday afternoon. The site produces an hourly list of its bestsellers.

Khan, whose son was killed while serving in Iraq, flashed a pocket constitution and offered to lend it to the Republican presidential candidate,Donald Trump, during a speech at the Democratic national convention. The version Khan used at the convention did not appear to be the same as the one that became popular on Amazon.

Trump himself responded to the words of Khan’s speech. Monday, a bipartisan coalition, led by Republican Sen. John McCain, admonished the presidential candidate for his anti-Muslim rhetoric.

“In recent days, Donald Trump disparaged a fallen soldier’s parents,” said McCain, who was taken prisoner during the Vietnam War. “He has suggested that the likes of their son should not be allowed in the United States — to say nothing of entering its service. I cannot emphasize enough how deeply I disagree with Mr. Trump’s statement. I hope Americans understand that the remarks do not represent the views of our Republican Party, its officers, or candidates.”

Family members of military personnel killed in the line of duty, 40 combat veterans and a veteran serving in Congress sent Trump a letter, as well.

“Your statements are unacceptable, especially from someone seeking to serve as Commander in Chief,” it read. “The Khans’ sacrifice has earned them the right to ask hard questions of those seeking elected office.”
