City of Seattle sued over caste discrimination law 

SEATTLE (Diya TV) – Indian American Abhijit Bagal filed a civil lawsuit against the city of Seattle, saying its recent caste discrimination ordinance infringes on constitutional rights and promotes discrimination. Seattle became the first city in America to have such a law on the books. It was pushed by Indian American Councilmember Kshama Sawant.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese introduced his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi to a rock star welcome in a packed stadium.  Modi is making his first visit to Sydney in nine years as Australia looks to build economic bridges with the world’s most populous market at a time when relations with China have soured.

Bangladesh will take steps to prevent election interference, one day after the United States threatened curbs on citizens of the South Asian nation who undermine them. Several years ago, accusations of vote-rigging and the targeting of the political opposition marred national elections.
