Indian American Roma Gupta dies in plane crash


NEW YORK (Diya TV) – Indian American Roma Gupta has died in a small plane crash in New York but her daughter and the pilot survived. The pilot reported smoke in the cockpit before crashing near Long Island homes. The NTSB is investigating.

The US Senate has confirmed Arun Subramanian to be the Judge for the Southern District of New York. He’s the first Indian American judge to serve on this bench. Subramanian is a partner at law firm Susman Godfrey in New York and also served as a law clerk for Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on the US Supreme Court

Firefighters in the southern Indian city of Kochi are trying to control toxic fumes from spreading after a landfill burst into flames, cloaking the area in a thick haze and choking residents. The towering landfill is the country’s latest trash mountain to catch fire, causing dangerous heat and methane emissions, and adding to India’s growing climate challenges.
