NEW YORK (Diya TV) – Hundreds of Indian Americans, South Asian and other supporters of Diwali marched around the New York State Capitol in Albany to push for a bill that designates Diwali to be a holiday in New York City schools. Indian American State Assemblywoman Jenifer Rajkumar was among the group of lawmakers spearheading the effort to get bill A628 passed.

Indian American Nikki Haley is reportedly putting together a national finance committee and communications team to explore a potential presidential run. Haley’s also directed some of her new hires to report to work at her nonprofit and political action committee. While the former UN ambassador under Trump hasn’t formally announced a presidential run, she’s strongly hinted at the possibility.

The U.S. Department of Justice and eight states filed an antitrust lawsuit against Google, seeking the breakup of the company’s online ad business.  The DOJ alleges that Google’s suite of online advertising tools prevents competitors from entering the online advertising market and blocks publishers from monetizing their own content. Google, which is led by Sundar Pichai, says this move would stifle innovation and slow growth for small businesses.
