Three Indian students killed in Connecticut crash

HARTFORD, CT (Diya TV) – A Connecticut community is mourning the loss of three Indian students who died after being involved in a car accident. Officials say their minivan slammed into a truck. The students attended the University of New Haven and Sacred Heart University. Officials say five others were also injured.
Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis, who started the tradition of celebrating Diwali with the Indian American community at the Governor’s Mansion when he came into office in 2019, continued with the festivities this year. DeSantis, who’s considered a presidential candidate in 2024, also answered questions about issues related to Indian Americans in his state.
Indian American Sonal Shah will take over as CEO of the Texas Tribune, a non profit news outlet. Shah helped start the Asian American Foundation before her departure earlier this year.
