Shri Thanedar wins Detroit Congressional Primary

DETROIT (Diya TV) — Democrat Shri Thanedar has won the newly created 13th Congressional District Primary in Detroit Michigan which was a crowded field of candidates. The district includes much of downtown and midtown areas. Thanedar is already a state representative and poured in millions of his own dollars.

Indian American Dimple Ajmera was re-elected to Charlotte North Carolina’s city council. She’s the first Indian American and the youngest woman to hold this position.

A U.S. drone strike has killed Ayman Al-Zawarhiri, one of the worlds most wanted terrorists. Officials say they got him as he stood on his balcony in Kabul, Afghanistan. Al-Zawarhiri was a top Al Qaeda official and Osama Bin Laden’s former deputy, and one of the masterminds of the 9/11 terror attacks.
