HARTFORD (Diya TV) — The Consulate General of India in New York is condemning the Connecticut Assembly’s call to celebrate Sikh Independence Day saying it divides communities. The controversy started last month after a video showed a state assembly official reading a declaration alongside several Sikhs holding anti-India banners and pro-Khalistan placards. The Consulate General of India says it will escalate this issue with lawmakers.

Kashmiri separatist leader Yasin Malik guilty on terror charges | Diya TV News

SAN FRANCISCO (Diya TV) — Radical separatist leader Mohammad Yasin Malik is pleading guilty in a terror funding case. The court said Malik had set up an elaborate structure and mechanism across the world to raise funds for carrying out unlawful activities in Jammu and Kashmir in the name of “freedom struggle” for Muslims. The blockbuster movie The Kashmir Files is based in part off Malik’s efforts to cleanse Kashmir of Hindus.

Indian-American Arun Venkataraman was sworn in as the Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Global Markets and Director General of the US and Foreign Commercial Service for the International Trade Administration. He was appointed by President Biden and lead more than 1400 people.
