US & India hold Strategic Dialogue at White House | Diya TV News

WASHINGTON DC (Diya TV) — U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin welcomed India’s Minister of External Affairs S. Jaishankar today on the White House lawn. Next week they’re holding a strategic dialogue between both countries for the fourth U.S.-India 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue.

The FBI arrested two men impersonating Department of Homeland Security agents in Washington DC. Court documents say Arian Taherzadeh and Haider Ali are a flight risk, a danger to the community, and have ties to Pakistani intelligence. They both pleaded not guilty. Among those who Ali and Taherzadeh allegedly deceived over the past two years were Secret Service agents assigned to the White House, including one in first lady Jill Biden’s protective detail.

A new study by the International Monetary Fund shows India has almost wiped out extreme poverty. The World Bank defines that as people living on less than two dollars in purchasing power. The latest data shows that number is now less than one percent. The authors of the report say food subsidies and the expansion of the country’s social safety net helped with the progress.
