Music icon Lata Mangeshkar passes away at 92

NEW DELHI (Diya TV) — Bollywood legend Lata Mangeshkar passed away over the weekend after battling Covid-19. She was known as the “nightingale of India” and gave her voice to Indian movies for more than 70 years. She was honored at a state funeral where Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and actors like Shah Rukh Khan also paid their respects. She was 92 years old.
Officials say more than 900,000 people have died from Covid-19 in the U.S., the highest figure of any nation. It’s not just the total numbers. America also has the highest death rate of any wealthy country, with half of the deaths occurring after vaccines became available.
South Korean automaker Hyundai is facing backlash in India after tweeting from the account of its Pakistani partner Nishat Group that expressed solidarity for the people of the disputed territory of Kashmir. Many social media users called for a boycott of Hyundai cars.
