U.S. sends 80M vaccines abroad, includes India

WASHINGTON DC (Diya TV) — India will be getting the first 25 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine from the U.S. stockpile in the fight to end the global pandemic. In total 16 Asian countries like Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will be getting some of America’s abundant supply.  In total, 80 million vaccine doses will be sent to other hard-hit places like Gaza and the West Bank facing the Covid crisis.

Environmentalists are suing the Sri Lankan government and operators of a container ship loaded with chemicals and plastic that burned offshore in the Indian Ocean for almost two weeks.  International experts say they’re preparing to deal with a possible environmental crisis.

And no surprise here. There are more than 70 Indian American students participating in this year’s Scripps National Spelling Bee. If one of them claims the top spot in the Bee, it would extend Indian American supremacy in the event dating back to 2008.
A total of 21 Indian Americans have been declared champions or co-champions. The Bee was canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 global pandemic.
