Tech icons Buterin, Dorsey, Khosla donate $1B+ to India Covid relief

SAN FRANCISCO (Diya TV) — Generous donors around the world are pouring in money for India Covid relief. The latest is Vitalik Buterin who donated one billion dollars worth of cryptocurrencies, one of the largest ever individual philanthropy efforts. Buterin joins other tech entrepreneurs who have given to fight coronavirus in India like venture capitalist Vinod Koshla and Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey.
Democratic Congressman Ami Bera of California is urging the Biden-Harris administration to continue crucial aid to India to help overcome the Covid-19 pandemic. He personally met with Vice President Kamala Harris at the White House and said he appreciated the assistance Washington was providing to India, but that it should be continued into the future.
And Queens New york lawmaker Jenifer Rajkumar has introduced a bill in the state assembly that would establish Diwali as a school holiday. Rajkumar, who represents the 38th Assembly District in central Queens, says it is time for Diwali to be recognized as a school holiday.
