Sikh Coalition Asks For Hate Crime Probe | Diya TV News

INDIANAPOLIS (Diya TV) — A civil rights advocacy group called the Sikh Coalition is demanding a full investigation into the possibility that bias was a factor in the mass shooting at a FedEx facility in Indiana. Four of the eight victims were Sikhs. But law enforcement officials say they have yet to determine the motive of the gunman who was white. He died of a self inflicted gunshot wound.

Former US ambassador to India Richard Verma is now head of global policy at Mastercard. Verma will also serve as general counsel at the multi national financial services company.  He’s the first and only Indian American to serve in this powerful position.

And a Florida nurse is facing charges after allegedly threatening to kill Vice President Kamala Harris. Authorities say Niviane Petit Phelps spoke angrily in a video about her hatred for President Joe Biden and Harris, the first Indian American to serve in this position. Phelps also allegedly went as far as practicing at a gun range and applied for a concealed weapons permit.
