NEW DELHI (Diya TV) — Bollywood star Deepika Padukone visited Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi and met with Aishe Ghosh, JNU’s student body president who was viciously attacked by hooligans over the weekend, along with more than 40 others. The visit is a bold one since Padukone has a new film “Chhapaak” releasing this week. And while there are already massive calls online to support the actress, there are many planning to boycott the film and everything she endorses as well.
Iran launched and the U.S. acknowledged that more than a dozen ballistic missiles against bases in Iraq that house US troops. The immediate retaliation for last week’s US drone strike against senior Iranian commander Qasem Soleimani is the latest indication we could be entering an ongoing and overt conflict between the United States and Iran. Oil prices jumped more than 4% to over $65 a barrel on news of the strike.
And actress Awkwafina became the first woman of Asian descent to win best lead actress in a comedy or musical motion picture at the Golden Globes for her performance in “The Farewell.”
