Elon Musk says Tesla plans to be in India by 2020

SAN FRANCISCO (Diya TV) —   India’s richest man, Mukesh Ambani, just helped his brother Anil out of a major jam, despite their past differences. Anil’s Reliance Communications owed $77 million to Ericsson and he faced jail for non-payment. But in a statement, the company announced the debt was addressed, implying older brother Mukesh had taken care of the bill.

India’s second-richest man, Azim Premji, is making news of own by giving billions to charity in what is thought to be largest donation ever seen in India.

The tech tycoon has now allocated a total of $21 billion to the Azim Premji Foundation.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk tweeted he wants to bring their electric cars to India this year or by 2020. He has blamed tough policies for delaying the carmaker’s entry into India in the past. India is the world’s fourth largest automobile market.

Adding to the pacts they’ve struck over the last three years, India and the United States are close to finalizing a new deal to deepen defense industry collaboration.

And representatives from six social media platforms met with Indian election officials, holding discussions on ways to tackle fake news and authenticate political ads in advance of elections there next month.

India blocks entry of a Palestinian rights group into the U.N.

Modi blocks Palestinian Rights

WASHINGTON (Diya TV) — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu thanked Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Twitter for India’s support in blocking the entry of a Palestinian rights group into the UN.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s U.S.-India Business Council held day one of the India Ideas Summit, convening government officials from the U.S. and India, as well as business executives and thought leaders from around the globe. Google CEO Sundar Pichai and NASDAQ CEO Adena Friedman won Global Leadership Awards respectively.

And U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo spoke as well, highlighting what he hope to accomplish during his visit to India in a few weeks.

Warriors star forward Kevin Durant announced on Instagram he had successful Achilles tendon surgery in New York surrounded by family and friends. His team will square off against the Raptors tomorrow night for Game 6 of the NBA Finals. Diya TV will be there with pregame and postgame analysis.

Trump calls 50% tariffs by India on US motorcycles unacceptable

Indian Tariffs unacceptable

WASHINGTON (Diya TV) — President Trump said though India reduced import tariffs on American motorcycles from 100 percent to 50 percent, it is still too high and not acceptable to him.

The Michigan Board of Education voted to approve new social studies standards, which now include Sikhism for the first  time. The new standards will give more than 1.4 million public school students in Michigan context about the Sikh community.

In a list compiled by the New York Times, Palo Alto Networks CEO Nikesh Arora and j2 Global CEO Vivek Shah are two of the top ten highest paid CEO’s amongst U.S. publicly traded companies.

While Arista Networks CEO Jayshree Ullal, Syntel co-founder Neerja Sethi and Confluent co-founder Neha Narkhede are among the richest self-made women according to Forbes.

Trump blames India, China for pollution

LONDON (Diya TV) — President Trump in remarks made in Britain blamed India & China, among others for world pollution, saying “China, India, Russia, many other nations, they have not very good air, not very good water in the sense of pollution and cleanliness.”

The U.S. State Department said America will have a broader security partnership with India, stating “India plays a vital role in the U.S. vision for a free and open Indo-Pacific.”

Nearly two years after taking to the Global Entrepreneurship Summit stage in India, Ivanka Trump closed out GES 2019 in the Netherlands with Mastercard CEO Ajay Banga to announce a new partnership promoting inclusion, opportunity, & economic empowerment for women.

As part of Pride Month, Indian American neuroscientist Jiwandeep Kohli decided to put together a rainbow turban, which instantly went viral once he shared the image online.

He even got a compliment from former President Obama, who said “You’ve got a lot to be proud of, Jiwandeep. Thanks for everything you do to make this country a little more equal. Turban looks great, by the way. Happy Pride Month, everybody!”

And the St. Louis Blues marched into Boston for the second time in the series and beat the favored Bruins 2-1 to lead the Stanley Cup Final 3 games to 2. They have a chance to win their first franchise championship on Sunday in St. Louis.
